Private Classes
Not only has our ten month old standard poodle puppy gained focusing skills, but we have gained confidence in shaping her behaviors. After taking classes in two other dog schools with other dogs, we feel Deborah's is by far the best availalbe. Our puppy is safe in supervised daycare. We are now progressing through Puppy II class. Deborah makes learning fun! Lynn Ormsby
Behavior Problems
Deborah works miracles with dogs, period. Whether they are skittish, headstrong, or aggressive, she works her zen magic on them, and helps you learn how to do the same. She not only rescued our lovable pit-mix, but she helped us socialize him around other dogs and around my then-3-year-old daughter. She is great with both canines and their human owners who might learn a little more slowly than the dogs do, and her "Growly Class" is terrific. All this AND dog daycare...you and your dog will be happier for working with Good CitiZen Dog Training. --Alison Tracy Hale
Daycare
We have loved puppy kindergarten for our English Bulldog pup, we've learned so much. But we've been taking her to daycare twice a week for the past month and her behavior has been so much easier to manage. She's so exhausted after that we've actually been able to have date night without guilt for the first time since we brought her home. Best thing we've done for her.
Growly Class
I just had to share. Dax and I walked around Green Lake in Seattle yesterday. We came into contact with probably 30 dogs and all kinds of scooters, bikes, roller blades, etc. He was amazing!! Not a single issue. He was even barked at by a dog and he didn't react at all. The really cool thing was, I knew he could do it, so I wasn't nervous. It was great. Thank you so much for your class. It literally has changed our life.
Consultations
The introduction of an American Bulldog puppy into our home significantly upset the balance of the house with our 10 year old Staffordshire mix and 5 year old Labradoodle. Fortunately, we were referred to Deborah and with her guidance and leadership we brought some peace back to our home. Deborah did both in house training and Growley class with our pups. She made certain we fully understood our role, what we needed to change and what to expect. Our Labradoodle is high anxiety and medication dependent, she helped us with creative ways to prevent his destructiveness and how to keep him from becoming overwhelmed with anxiety. She responded promptly to all of our questions and emergent situations. Now, all of our pups play well together, are enjoyable to experience in the home and we’re not on edge with what’s going to happen next. Thanks Deborah!
Daycare
I cannot say enough positive things about Good Citizen Dog Training. Our introduction to Deborah's services was the new puppy consultation when we first brought our new pup home when he was just nine weeks old. Deborah trained US before we started training our dog. Since then, we have attended Puppy Kindergarten, Puppy II, Advanced Puppy, and Slick Tricks, and the classes have been a lot of fun and very beneficial. Along with the classes, we have sent our dog to Good Citizen for daycare twice a week for many months, and our pup always comes home wiped out from a day of supervised playing (what can be better)! I am so proud of our amazing dog. I attribute much of his behavior and confidence to the excellent training and socialization he received at Good Citizen Dog Training. Send your dog to Deborah! You won't regret it.

Hello Deborah, Thank you so much for allowing Sally to have some social time with her new friends last Thursday! I know she had a great time, and she was totally exhausted when she came home. I truly believe that Good CitiZen would be a great help to Sally's training and ours, but I'm not sure what type of plan would be most appropriate for her. So, if you could recommend a long term training plan for Sally based on your options, I would greatly appreciate it. Again, thank you to you and your team for making Sally's first experience with Good CitiZEN's a great one!
Growly Class
My wife and I recently adopted a mixed breed lovable dog named Abbey who was two years old when we adopted her. She was having issues approaching other dogs without getting the snarl and sometimes a lunge to bite. She is doing much better in class, but this is more about the training my wife and I have received. We have enrolled in Flyball, a team sport for dogs, and the obvious issue is that dogs have to get along. A very large American Bulldog had fixated on Abbey during training and instead of running down to fetch the ball, she attacked Abbey. I had only been to the orientation at this point, but I learned the specific method to use during the attack and I was able to seperate the two dogs without any harm to either the dogs or myself. The American Bulldog's owner was amazed at how I controlled his dog and contained her, so I already recommended Deborah's training. So, the moral of the story is...our dogs are receiving training they will know the rest of their life, but
Puppy Class
My wife and I enrolled our new puppy in Deborah's class right after we brought him home. That was one of the best decisions we could have made. Deborah started us out on the right path and continued to help us train our little guy so that he has become a great addition to our family. It is so much fun to be able to take him wherever we go and know that he will be calm, happy, and well behaved. We frequently get comments on what a great dog he is. Deborah's puppy class taught us how to understand his behaviors and communicate with him in a way that he will be able to understand. She is also great at recognizing the warning signs of potential future problem behaviors and solving them before they become an issue.
Puppy Class
(Continued) Her class is a wonderful way to socialize your puppy and allows both of you to learn how to properly interact with other dogs and humans in a controlled, comfortable environment. Our experience with Deborah and her puppy class has been tremendous, and I would recommend it for every puppy. Thank you Deborah for your guidance in helping to raise the best dog I've ever had.
