Excerps

"In general, humans do an abysmal job of communicating with their dogs, starting with the use of verbal language. So, on the occasion when you actually do speak directly to your dog, chances are good that he hasn’t got a clue what you are saying. Read this article to find out how to best communicate with your dog."

"Frustrated owners trying to get their distracted dogs’ attention needn’t worry: All you need to learn—and teach your dog—is proper recall technique."

The Pet Links webpage contains a variety of information for dog owners and enthusiasts.

The information includes "Pet Shelters" in Washington State that do not destroy animals. These are animals that have often been saved from “death row” by shelters that exist solely from donations and adoptions and are run by volunteers.

Also included here is "Canine Education" with sites that link you to almost any kind of “dog related” information you would hope to find.

This book offers a new perspective on the relationship between people and dogs; and how dogs learn through operant and classical conditioning. It’s the book I use most in my obedience trainin. Jean Donaldson who is the author of this book is also the Director of the Training Academy at the San Francisco SPCA (Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.)  I did my training in both basic obedience and dog-to-dog aggression with Jean and consider her to be the pre-eminent person in the field of canine behavior.

What's New

February 13th, Monday!!!

New puppy classes begin on Saturday, February 18th and 25th. Puppy Kindergarten will begin on the 18th at 10:00am . Puppy II will begin on the 25th at 11:30 and Advanced Puppy Class will begin begin on the same day at 1:00PM.  Please contact Deborah directly to enroll.

The next Growly Class will begins, Tuesday, March 6th at 6:30PM.  There is still room, but you must contact Deborah ASAP to enroll.

Extended Day Care Hours! Open from 7:00am - 6:00pm every day.
We now offer Day Care (5) five days per week, Monday through Friday!  Pick up and delivery is available every day except Friday, which will be drop off and pick up by owner only.  We will still be conducting Day Training, but will be able to offer those services any day of the week.  Please contact Deborah directly at 253-905-3685, if you are interested in joining our daycare family.

Want a trained, happy and tired dog.  Day Training is open for all comers.  We spend 30 minutes training your puppy or adult dog.  Then they play with the other dogs with continuous supervision to ensure their social skills are developing properly.

Also, the New Puppy Consultation is very popular for new puppy owners.  We are puppy specialists and will help you make your home a safe and successful place to train and maintain your new puppy. This 90-minute consultation is helpful for new puppy owners who have little or no puppy experience, for people with older puppies that are "out of control" or to help you to resolve basic puppy behavior problems and  to "jump start" the basic obedience and attention and focus work with your puppy.  People who do the New Puppy Consultation are extremely happy (actually they are amazed at what we accomplish in 90 minutes) to have invested the time and money, which gives them a solid basis in puppy rearing, maintenance and training.
