This is an 8-week class that incorporates elements of canine freestyle. In this class we combine basics of obedience, attention and focus and add in some “tricks” and then choreograph our moves and it to set to music. Musical freestyle started out as "heel work to music" which is simply putting a little spin on traditional heeling exercises by setting it to music and adding some variations to add interest and challenge. Musical Freestyle, which is the style we use, takes the concept further and adds moves and routines that do not maintain the traditional heel position. There are different styles of this activity and everyone has their favorite. The activity can be sport focused, precision focused, or performance focused. There is no "best" focus. What is right for you and your dog depends upon your personalities, goals and teamwork. Most of all, it is fun, fun, fun!
The class is designed for dogs 1 year of age and over, with prior training, preferably in a group class situation. The one requirement of the class is that the dog must be extremely well socialized and have no aggressive tendencies toward other dogs
