Day Care
A Better Place for your Best Friend
A Full-Service Dog Day Care (open Monday - Friday from 6:30am - 6pm)
Good CitiZEN Day Care is unique in many ways. To begin with, we are dog trainers and we understand how to safely socialize dogs. We are pleased to say that most (if not all) of our day care dogs are current or former students. This means that our day care participants are known to us. We require a "meet & greet" to ensure that new dogs coming to the day care are well socialized. We have two very large spaces that the dogs will occupy. One is inside and the other is outside. Both are secured by fencing and the dogs cannot get out. And, most importantly, your best friends will be supervised very closely by experienced dog attendants who have been well-trained by Deborah Rosen, our owner and lead trainer. We will rotate dogs into different spaces to make sure they are getting a chance to play with different dogs and to ensure that they do not get annoyed with one another.
Our day care is now full service - open from 6:30am - 6:00pm. You may drop off your dog at or after 6:30 AM and call for them NO LATER THAN 6:00PM. A complete price list, including package deals for prepaid packages and for multiple dogs is available by "hovering" over the Day Care link on this site.
Good Citizen Day Care dogs will follow a schedule that includes intensive play, exercise, rest periods, feeding (if needed) and lots and lots of love. Of course, since we're dog trainers, there will be some training that happens here as well. We can't help ourselves - we like dogs that are well behaved! We correct excessive jumping, barking and also making sure the dogs "play nicely in the playground" with each other. For those of you in need of more intensive training, please click on "Day Training" to explore this service. It's a wonderful choice for busy working people who still want well-socialized and well-trained dogs.
Vaccinations
Good Citizen Dog Care must have current vaccine information on file. For your understanding, we think it's best to educate everyone the necessity for every dog to be current on their vaccines.
To avoid possible outbreaks, all clients must supply us with a current list of vaccines for their pet(s) before service begins. As you may know, there is no fool proof way to keep every dog 100% safe - but their vaccines aid to protect your pet(s) by triggering a defense within cohabitating dog spaces from spreadable contagion. We maintain a database with information on each dog, dates of vaccines and it prompts us to let you know when your dog is due for their vaccines.
Vaccinations required: Rabies, Bordetella, DHLPP, yearly Fecal Exam.
Each dog's vaccines expire on different dates; we implement proof of vaccination requests for each client to update their pet(s) information. You may drop-off vaccination copies or leave them in an envelope when we pick up your dog. Remember, dogs in good health have a more rewarding daycare experience.
All dog(s) must be neutered by 8 months of age.
